Truly patient-centric storytelling
As part of a disease awareness campaign, ARK produced a film for Biotest AG depicting the journey that many who undergo an organ transplant travel. After several interviews, the ARK team spoke with Dennis who provided a powerful and personal story of his experience of a liver transplant. The creative team felt that, rather than basing a narrative on the transcripts of the interview, the actual telephone audio from the interview should be used as the voice-over to the story. Above all else, we wanted an authentic story. A patient story without filter.
The resulting film is a short, simple and elegant metaphor of Dennis’ journey. Shot in a day using multiple cameras, mounts and drones, and graded to give a cinematic feel, the entire piece took just two weeks from interview to sign off and demonstrates the agility of both the client and the agency.
